Helen Glenn has been successfully managing the Mission to Seafarers Halifax for over 13 years, providing unwavering support to seafarers visiting Nova Scotia’s ports. With a professional background spanning several decades in corporate customer service management, including roles at Scholar’s Choice, Harlequin Reader Service, Indian & Northern Affairs, and the London Free Press, Helen made a purposeful shift into the nonprofit sector to pursue her passion for service and community impact.

She has since brought her expertise in fund development, marketing, volunteer coordination, and event management to a variety of charitable organizations, including the Canadian Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society of Atlantic Canada, and the IWK Health Centre.

Helen currently serves as a board member for Mission to Seafarers Canada and for the North American Maritime Ministry Association (NAMMA), contributing her leadership to both national and continental maritime welfare efforts.

In 2022, Helen was awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal by the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia in recognition of her outstanding contribution to social services, a testament to her deep commitment to the wellbeing of seafarers and her community.
